Looking back at the past 9 years....

Do you realise that now blogs have this function that will list down the entries with the most views for your blogs on the side bar? Well, out of curiosity, I clicked on some of the postings that so-called had the highest views. I cringed after reading some of the posts. This is me looking at myself 10 years ago. Sometimes I wonder what must I be thinking when I wrote all these entries many years back. I supposed if I were to be reading this entry 10 years from now, I might be cringing as well. I guess that is life. We cringed at the thought of what we used to be. But I must say that I missed certain things that I have from 10 years back. Like this fabulous body that has allowed me to party like crazy and clubbing for 4 days straight. Without feeling exhausted, mind you.

I really worked hard and played hard.

By the way, if you haven’t already known, this blog has been running for 9 years. A friend introduced it to me in 2004. Thanks Natasha! And I intend to keep it running for many more years to come. If you’ve been an avid reader, I thank you for your interest.

Merry Christmas, Singapore!

We all already know that Singapore is made up of many different races and religion. And no, Singapore is not located in China. Neither was it the capital or part of China. It was part of Malaysia, once upon a time.

Anyway, when it comes to Christmas in Singapore, I have always believed that regardless of your religion or races, you should just jump onto the bandwagon, and just have fun and celebrate with fellow Singaporeans; over dinners, shopping sprees or just a simple get together over hot chocolates. And here is a true blue Singaporeans' carol to put you in the mood. Merry Christmas, Singapore!

Queen of Christmas

Michael Buble made a very poignant point: Without Mariah Carey, Christmas will never be the same. She not only sung the Christmas anthem: All I Want for Christmas, she also wrote it. and every year, I keep wondering to myself of the amount of royalty she will be receiving for the song, as it was played almost everyday all season long, all over the world. Anyway, I really enjoyed this version more than the version she did with Justin Bieber *shudders*

Oh.. Mariah....

We all know that I love Mariah Carey. She is talented, beautiful and she doesn’t pretend to be anybody. She is just Mariah Carey.

Like if you were to see her wearing a bra on the outside of her dress or that her armpit is unshaved, we wouldn’t go “Yucks!”, instead we would go “Oh, that’s just Mariah Carey”.

Or if she were to be flailing her arms around while singing, we wouldn’t say, “ooh. She is crazy”, instead we would say,” That’s Mariah Carey”.

Anyway, I’ve been waiting this interview clips from Watch What Happens Live! and I simply can’t express the joy I have in my heart right now. *bimbo fan moments* Joy to the world!

But… half way through the second clip, my heart aches and cracks.

She said,” If this were to be my last album, I wanted my fans to have a journey with me. I want them to understand and have that arc with me”.

Did he just mentioned the L word? The LAST album. I knew it! I knew that she was planning on letting go her career… and thus the art of letting go!

Square Moon- Square is the staging only....

Square Moon. Nice posters but messy production. That was exactly what I felt as I stepped out of the Cultural Centre, National University of Singapore tonight. It is sad, considering the amount of trouble the producer/ writer of this production has gone through.

First, its venue application to the theatre at the National Museum of Singapore was rejected. Then, after being confirmed early on as one of the highlights for the M1 Fringe Festival 2013, it was abruptly dropped from the programme without explanation. When the play was supposed to have an invite-only private reading at The Substation (alongside launches of two books by political exiles), the event was called off – again, with no explanation given. After six months of rewrites, meetings and applications, Square Moon finally got its performance licence this June, leaving director Peter Sau only a short window of a few weeks to scramble for a team and venue to stage the show in time for the year’s end – before he leaves for a Masters programme next year.

But then let my opinion affect your perception of this play, okay? Jus tog ahead and watch it. It's happening this afternoon and tonight. Then tell me what you feel about it.

First Time Stomper

Guess what people? Yours truly has finally succumbed to the butchery in journalism. Yes. Yours truly has sent in an article accompanied by three photos to STOMP: The glass shattering incident that happened in Orchard Central.

Turning Anger into Arts

When you're angry, and you know it, you clap your hands... Or you could type it down hard on your keyboard:

Embedded deep beneath these layers of hatred and anger, is cynicism beyond your imagination; a bastard child that i bore over the years, conceived from your every words and actions. You're the middle finger that fucked my life.
